Bensenville, IL – The Village of Bensenville is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Village Trustee Marie T. Frey, a dedicated public servant, tireless advocate for senior citizens, and longtime volunteer who devoted her life to the Bensenville and Wood Dale communities.
Trustee Frey joined the Bensenville Village Board in 2019 and quickly became known for her commitment to ensuring that residents—especially seniors—had access to vital resources, programs, and support. Her advocacy extended beyond board service, as she gave countless hours of her time to community organizations, local initiatives, and volunteer efforts.
For over 55 years Trustee Frey was a vital part of both the Bensenville and Wood Dale communities, where her compassion, generosity, and dedication touched the lives of many. Her leadership and service leave behind a lasting legacy of care and commitment to others.
“Marie was more than a trustee; she was a friend, a mentor, and a role model,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. “Her passion for helping others, especially our senior community, has left a lasting impact on Bensenville. I will deeply miss her kindness, her wisdom, and the joy she brought to every meeting—often marked by her signature decorative headbands that perfectly reflected her vibrant spirit. We are forever grateful for her years of service and her unwavering dedication to the people of Bensenville.”
The Village of Bensenville extends its deepest condolences to Trustee Frey’s family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Details regarding memorial services will be shared as they become available.
