The Village of Bensenville in conjunction with Landmark Contractors is tentatively scheduled to begin construction on October 6, 2014 for the alternate safety measurement improvements required for the Quiet-zone project. The improvement will take place along the north and south of the railroad tracks at Center St, Addison St, and Church Rd. The project also consists of relocating the existing bus stop inside the Metra Parking lot between Center St and Addison St. The project is scheduled to start with Road Closures on Center St at the railroad tracks. A detour route to Addison St will be in place for this construction. Once the Center St improvements are completed, only then the contractor will be allowed to do Road Closures on Addison St at the railroad tracks. A detour route to Center St will be in place for this construction. The improvements at Church Rd will take place under traffic with utilization of Flaggers. Motorists are advised to use alternate and/or detour routes as traffic delays are expected during this project. There will be some impact to the local businesses during this project; however, the Village and the contractor will work together to keep the impacts to minimal.
