On October 15, 2015 the O’Hare Modernization Program(OMP) completed the construction of a new southernmost runway, 10R-28L. The new runway will be predominately used for arrival flights during the less commonly invoked “East Flow” conditions and will not be operational at night between 10PM and 6AM. We will continue to work hard for our residents and businesses impacted by O’Hare Airport noise by working towards goals such as:
• Expedite full OMP buildout to better distribute flights around O’Hare
• Keep the diagonal runways open for better flight distribution
• Enforce the Fly Quiet Program and prevent night flights over residential homes
• Expand residential sound insulation
• Expand noise abatement procedures
