Fleet and Facilities Maintenance
The Facilities and Fleet Divisions primary goal is to protect the investment of the Village owed properties vehicles and equipment. The Facilities and Fleet Division maintains and repairs all Village-owned buildings, vehicles and public works equipment. Oversight is provided by a full-time Supervisor for both Facilities and Fleet along with a team of three skilled union Facility Technicians, one seasonal part time individual, and two full time skilled union auto/truck mechanics.
The Facilities crew is also responsible for the snow and ice management around the Village owed properties. Skills in commercial electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, and lighting and fire protection systems are but a few of what these individuals are responsible for. Knowledge of exterior structures and interior equipment are also skills that these individuals are required to have. The Facilities crew also takes care of vandalism and graffiti removal for not only the Village buildings, but resident requests as well.
The Fleet Division provides both preventive maintenance as well as predictive maintenance on all of the Village Fleet and equipment. The Fleet division is responsible for over 90 trucks, cars, and public works specialty equipment. All of the village police cars, EMA, snowplows/salt/brine trucks, backhoes, skid steers, cranes and other earth moving equipment fall under the Fleet division’s responsibility. The Fleet division ensures that all vehicles and public works equipment are operating properly and meet all safety requirements.
